Daizu Moriyama Nature Park
This park located in Mt. Daizumori spans over towns of Oe and Nishikawa. 984 m in elevation, the park holds colonies of trees such as beech and Erman’s birch on its gentle slopes and is surrounded by habitats of wild animals including forest green tree frogs, mountain hawk eagles, and serows.
A mountain trail of approximately 800 m is maintained from the parking lot at the mountain foot to the summit, allowing visitors to enjoy an easy hike up while taking in nature.
Period: End of May to Late November (subject to slight changes depending on snow conditions).
Description of the Site
(1) Observatory Tower
A 10-meter tall observatory tower made from plenty of the local Nishiyama cedar stands on the summit, providing a truly superb 350-degree panorama view of the Asahi Mountain Range, Mt. Gassan, Mt. Hayama, and Mt. Zao from its top. A carillon bell with romantic sound is installed on the observatory tower. Try ringing it when you climb up.
(2) Trail
A mountain trail of approximately 800 m is maintained from the parking lot at the mountain foot to the summit.
Various landscapes of each season will entertain hikers.
